Join Me for an Exciting Library Adventure in August 2025!

Hello, dear readers! I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be embarking on a special library tour of Knaresborough, Harrogate and Ripon, when I will be one of a small group of PYA Children’s authors, undertaking book readings and activities with children. Bringing the magic of storytelling and creativity to young minds! The events are a collaboration between FEVA, Books and Beverages and PYA. As a children’s author, I’m delighted to be part of the RYA, FEVA and Books & Beverages collaboration, for a series of “Live at the Library” events.

This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with children, share my book The Owl and The Mole, and inspire the next generation of storytellers. I will be present at all three, reading from and facilitating activities based on my book, The Owl and The Mole. Children attending will have an opportunity to determine what my next children’s book will be about and those who have produced the best coloured-in pictures, will be able to be credited within and receive a complimentary copy of it. Here’s everything you need to know about my upcoming appearances!

Where and When to Find Me

Mark your calendars, because I’ll be visiting three wonderful libraries in August 2025:

  • Wednesday, 13th August: Knaresborough Library between 10am and 4pm.
  • Thursday, 14th August: Harrogate Central Library between 10am and 4pm.
  • Friday, 15th August: Ripon Library between 10am and 4pm.

All events will run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with tailored activities for different age groups. These sessions are a celebration of local literary talent, a milestone I’m incredibly proud to be part of!

What’s in Store?

At each location, I’ll be reading from The Owl and The Mole, a heart-warming tale of friendship that draws inspiration. Did you know that stories featuring diverse friendships can boost empathy in young readers by up to 15%? I’m excited to share this with you and facilitate activities that bring the story to life.

Here’s where it gets really exciting! During these events, I’d love for the children attending to help shape my next children’s book. The best coloured-in pictures submitted will earn a special credit in the book and a complimentary copy when it’s published. It’s a chance to leave your mark on a new adventure, and I can’t wait to see your creativity shine!

Why This Matters

This tour is more than just a series of readings, it’s a celebration of community and collaboration. With 70% of UK libraries now engaging kids in co-creation activities (according to 2024 UNESCO data), these events are part of a growing movement to enhance literacy skills through interactive storytelling. I’m honoured to contribute to this with PYA, FEVA, and Books & Beverages, bringing local voices to the forefront.
