Peter Kay was born in Heywood, 1950, and now lives in West Yorkshire.  He is the author of “A Pennine Way Odyssey” (self-published 2012),   “Show Me The Way to Santiago” (Curious Cat Books 2020)  and “A Very Alternative Coast to Coast” (Curious Cat Books 2022).  He has written a soon to be published Children’s Book, “The Owl And The Mole”, illustrated by one of his daughters. He has written and performed poetry, thirteen poems have been published, in anthologies or on-line; six poems can be found in: “TUESDAY AFTERNOONS: AN ANTHOLOGY OF THIRTY POEMS BY FIVE POETS”. He is currently writing a murder mystery, set in 1930’s Yorkshire and ghost writing the Autobiography of a Congolese refugee RAP star.

Black Sun There is a black sun rising in the east, a swirling, shape-shifting schizemic shift. Twitchers throng, to embrace overhead feast, each single element of airborne lift combines to darken crimson blooded sky. Freewheeling murmuration holds our gaze, black sun fills binoculars held to try to capture magic moments, as the day slips into darkness the throng disperses, thousands of sturnidae, forever lost. Hooded crow signals eternal curses as moon takes centre stage to count the cost.
