Peter Kay was born in Heywood, 1950, lived for 37 years in Lancashire, 35 years in West Yorkshire and now lives in Carnforth on the Lancashire/ Cumbria border.

He is the author of “A Pennine Way Odyssey” (self-published 2012), “Show Me The Way to Santiago” (Curious Cat Books 2020) and “A Very Alternative Coast to Coast” (Curious Cat Books 2022). He has written and published a Children’s Book, “The Owl And The Mole”, illustrated by one of his daughters (Ingram Sparks 2024). He is currently writing a follow-up book “The Significant Squirrel Skirmish.”
He has written and performed poetry, over twenty poems have been published, in anthologies or on-line; six poems can be found in: “Tuesday Afternoons: An Anthology Of Thirty Poems by Five Poets” (2022).
His inaugural Poetry Pamphlet, “Imprints”, was published in May 2025 by Yaffle Press. A children’s Poetry Pamphlet “The Heavy-Footed Spider and Other Stories.” was also published in 2025.
He has ghost written the Autobiography of a Congolese refugee RAP star (RDC Soldier);”Congo To Global” was published in April 2026. He is currently writing a murder mystery, set in 1930’s Yorkshire.
