Unfortunately, I will no longer be able to attend the Christmas Book Fair at Swarthmoor Hall as previously advertised.
My brother and his family, who live in France, are coming over for a pre-Christmas visit that day. Opportunities for us all to be together are precious, so I have made the difficult decision to withdraw from the event.
I am sorry to anyone who was hoping to meet me there, but please don’t let my absence stop you from going. The Christmas Book Fair is still taking place, with plenty of authors, books and festive stalls to discover. I hope visitors will continue to support the organisers and all the writers attending.
The good news is that there will be other opportunities to find me and my books very soon. I will be attending the Burton-in-Kendal Christmas Market and the Hutton Roof Christmas Market during November. I’ll share the full details and reminders nearer the time.
Thank you for understanding. Family must occasionally come first—especially when they are travelling all the way from France!

I’m delighted to say that I’ll be taking a stall at this year’s Christmas Book Fair at Swarthmoor Hall on Saturday 5th December, from 10am–3pm.
It promises to be a lovely festive day, bringing together local authors and readers in the beautiful surroundings of Swarthmoor Hall.
I’ll have a selection of my books with me, including my walking and travel writing, poetry and children’s books, and of course I’ll be very happy to sign copies, have a chat about writing, walking, poetry; or probably all three!
If you’re looking for something a little different for a Christmas present, a signed book makes a rather special gift. 🎁📖
There will be plenty of other local authors to discover too, along with festive treats and hot drinks in the café, while the historic Hall and gardens will also be open to visitors.
