William Thirsk-Gaskill is a member of Wakefield Word and Black Horse Poets, who ran a 3-day poetry festival in June, called Writing For Wellbeing. He has had a play, called Escape Kit, produced on BBC Radio 4. The novella from which the play was adapted was short-listed for a Saboteur Award. His debut poetry and short fiction collections are published by Stairwell Books and are entitled Throwing Mother In The Skip, and Something I Need To Tell You. He compered the spoken word stage at the Long Division Festival in 2019, and the Clarence Park Free Festival in 2023. He is planning an expanded version of Writing For Wellbeing for 2025.
Lisa Falshaw lives and works in West Yorkshire. She has had several imagist poems published in Black Bough anthologies, and poems published by Atrium, Dreamcatcher, Dawn Treader, Strix, Fig Tree, Fevers of the Mind and Ink Sweat and Tears.

Rob Reed is a writer and performer from Wakefield. He teaches film, sings songs and, most of all, loves sharing spoken word. He recently wrote a poem every week for the year of his 52nd birthday. They were ‘quite good’ (Susan Reed, 2023).
Ali Murphy has written poetry all her life and over recent years valued poetry workshops. Over the last couple of years, she has had poetry published in Bread and Roses, Black Nore, The High Window, Ink Sweat and Tears, Northern Gravy longlist, Dawntreader, Leeds Poetry Festival shortlist anthology, Yaffle anthologies, and won 2nd Prize in Red Shed Wakefield Poetry Competition. She is currently working towards her first pamphlet publication with Yaffle’s Nest.
