My poetry pamphlet “Imprints” launched successfully on May 10, 2025, at the Heart Headingley Enterprise and Arts Centre, marking a significant milestone. The event featured readings by myself, Faye Marshall, with additional performances by other members of the Class of 2024 and hosts Gill and Mark Connors, creating a vibrant community atmosphere.
I sold 13 copies of “Imprints” during the launch, reflecting strong initial interest. Following the event, I received two invitations to headline at other poetry nights, scheduled for July and September 2025, indicating growing recognition of my work.
“Imprints” is available for purchase online here and at my upcoming poetry spoken word and open mic events, providing multiple opportunities for fans to acquire the pamphlet.
This ties in with part of a broader trend in the UK poetry scene, where independent publishers like Yaffle’s Nest are gaining prominence for their commitment to high-quality, provocative poetry.
Mark Connors: A truly wonderful day yesterday at the Yaffle’s Nest launch of ‘Throwing Sugar on the Fire’ by Faye Marshall and ‘Imprints’ by Peter Kay at Heart Centre in Headingley! You both read brilliantly. What a treat! We were also treated to sets by forthcoming Yaffle Nesters, Izabella Necessary and Ali Murphy who gave us a taste of what is to come from their debut poetry collections when we publish them in October. And they both read brilliantly too. And thank you to all the Yaffle family who turned out in numbers yet again. You lot are so supportive to each other and it underlines yet again why we do what we do and how proud we are of all of you. And such great contributions from you and others on the open mic too. Before that, we have a trip down to Penzance to launch Abigail Elizabeth Rowland ‘s debut collection before we cross over to Bradford to launch the debut collections of Yaffles William Coniston and Nabeela Ahmed! We’re also heading down to Norfolk to launch Sue Burge ‘s brilliant latest collection! Yes, we’re welcoming some big names into the Yaffle family!
