Exciting News:
Hello, fellow word wanderers and book lovers! As the festive season sparkles into view, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be joining the magical Christmas Market at Burton Memorial Hall right here in Burton-in-Kendal. This annual event is a highlight for our community, bursting with holiday cheer and perfect for picking up unique gifts. I’ll be there in person, sharing my books and some special activity packs to spark creativity and adventure, ideal for young readers, walkers, or anyone with a love for stories and the great outdoors.

Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, 8th November 2025
- Time: 10am – 4pm
- Location: Burton Memorial Hall (ample private parking for hirers)
- Admission: Just £1 (free for accompanied under-12s)
Expect 24 fabulous stalls brimming with Christmas delights, from handmade crafts and jewellery to cosy homewares, plus the hall’s legendary huge second-hand bookstall (buy from any stall and claim a free book!). And don’t miss Jan’s Pop-Up Café for hearty treats like bacon butties, quiche, sausage rolls, cakes, and hot drinks to fuel your browsing. All proceeds support the hall’s funds as a registered charity (England & Wales no. 50518).
Swing by my stall to grab signed copies of my titles like Show Me The Way to Santiago, A Very Alternative Coast to Coast, or the whimsical children’s tale The Owl And The Mole. My activity packs will include fun, interactive elements, perfect stocking fillers! If you’re local or planning a Cumbrian jaunt, this is the spot to kick off your Christmas shopping with a side of literary inspiration.
For more on the event, check out the official page: Christmas Market at BMH. Follow the hall on Facebook or Instagram for daily “Meet the Seller” spotlights. Hope to see you there, let’s chat poetry, paths, and presents!
Warmly, Peter
