Summer is heating up, and I’m thrilled to be heading to Durham for a wonderful family-friendly event packed with books, stories, and creativity. On Saturday 25th July 2026, I’ll be at the North East Children’s Indie Book Festival at Field & Fodder in Bearpark, Durham, with copies of my children’s books available to buy and sign. If you’re looking for a free, fun day out with the kids this summer, this is perfect. It’s a relaxed celebration of independent children’s authors, with:
- Opportunities to meet authors (including me!)
- Live storytelling sessions
- Creative activities for children of all ages (0–18)
- A chance to discover new books in a welcoming, outdoor-friendly setting
Whether your little ones love animals, adventure, friendship stories, or playful poetry, there will be something for everyone.
My Books on Sale
I’ll have signed copies of:
- The Owl and the Mole – A heart-warming tale about an unlikely friendship between an owl and a mole. It celebrates diversity, empathy, and how differences can bring us together. Beautifully illustrated by my daughter Rebecca. goodreads.com
- The Heavy-Footed Spider and Other Stories – A delightful children’s poetry collection full of fun, rhythmic verses and charming characters that kids love to read (or have read to them).
These make lovely gifts or holiday reads – and I’d be delighted to chat with you about them, answer questions, or simply say hello.

It’s a fantastic alternative to the usual summer activities – no screens, just stories, imagination, and fresh air in beautiful Durham. I hope to see lots of you there.
