I’m Back at Burton Memorial Hall Christmas Market: Saturday 14 November 2026!

Books, Christmas presents, festive treats and a chance to support a wonderful community venue!

Hello again, fellow book lovers and Christmas enthusiasts!

Yes, it’s that wonderful time of year again, and I’m delighted to announce that I’ll be returning to the Burton Memorial Hall Christmas Market on Saturday 14 November 2026!

I had a lovely time at last year’s event, meeting visitors, chatting about books and enjoying the festive atmosphere. So I’m very much looking forward to being back again. And if you’re beginning to think about Christmas presents, this might be just the place to find something a little different!

🎄 Christmas shopping with a difference

Burton Memorial Hall’s annual Christmas Market promises a wonderful selection of 24 stalls, offering gifts, homewares and all sorts of interesting things to discover. Rather than fighting your way through a busy shopping centre, why not spend a few hours browsing independent stalls, meeting the people behind the products and finding something special?

There’s also the Hall’s HUGE Used Book Stall, which sounds like an excellent excuse to add another book or two to the collection!

And when you fancy a break from shopping, Jan’s Pop-Up Café will be there to provide refreshments.

Books, Christmas shopping and something lovely to eat. What’s not to like?

📚 Give someone a story this Christmas!

I’ll be bringing along a selection of my books and looking forward to meeting readers, walkers, poetry lovers and anyone who enjoys a good story.

Whether you’re looking for a present for someone who enjoys walking, a little poetry, an adventure or a story for a younger reader, perhaps you’ll find just the thing.

Among my books are Show Me the Way to Santiago, A Very Alternative Coast to Coast, The Owl and the Mole and my poetry collection Imprints.

And if you’re buying a book as a Christmas present, I’ll be happy to sign it or write a personal dedication for the recipient.

There’s something lovely about giving a present with a personal touch, especially when you’ve been able to meet the person who wrote it.

Of course, you’re equally welcome to come along for a chat. I always enjoy hearing about other people’s walks, adventures, writing and favourite books.

❤️ Supporting Burton Memorial Hall

One of the nicest things about this event is that it’s not just an opportunity to do a little Christmas shopping. It’s also a chance to support Burton Memorial Hall, a valuable community venue that hosts activities and events throughout the year.

The £1 admission charge goes towards Hall funds, helping to support its continued work. So by coming along, you’re supporting a local community facility as well as the independent sellers taking part.
