A Little Christmas Cheer at Hutton Roof Village Hall Sunday 22 November!

Books, poetry, Christmas shopping and a chance to catch up with local readers!

Hello again, fellow book lovers, poetry enthusiasts and Christmas shoppers!

Yes, it’s nearly that time of year again. The decorations are beginning to appear, Christmas shopping lists are getting longer, and I’m preparing to pack up another collection of books and head off to a festive event! On Sunday 22 November 2026, I’ll be attending the Christmas Craft Fair at Hutton Roof Village Hall, just outside Carnforth, from 12 noon until 3 pm.

And I’m looking forward to it!

A Village Christmas Craft Fair

There’s something rather special about a village Christmas fair. Away from the bustle of the big shopping centres, these smaller community events offer the opportunity to browse, discover something different and enjoy a friendly conversation or two. And, of course, they provide a chance to support local craftspeople, independent traders and authors.

I’ll be there with a selection of my books, along with a small amount of my merchandise, ready to meet visitors and hopefully help a few people find something interesting for their Christmas stockings!

Books for Christmas. Or Just for Yourself!

If you’re looking for a present that’s a little different this Christmas, perhaps one of my books might fit the bill. My writing has taken me in several directions over the years, from long-distance walking adventures to children’s stories and poetry.

There’s A Very Alternative Coast to Coast, Three friends tackle a coast-to-coast walk across northern England, with mishaps, humour and unexpected encounters. Show Me the Way to Santiago, a personal journey along the Camino to Santiago, full of experiences, reflections and people met along the way.

For younger readers, there’s The Owl and the Mole, my illustrated children’s story, of friendship, empathy and celebrating differences, featuring an unlikely pair; which might make a lovely Christmas gift.

And for those who enjoy poetry, there’s Imprints, my first poetry pamphlet, published by Yaffle Press in 2025.

I’ll also have a small selection of merchandise. Nothing too extravagant; the books are still very much the stars of the show!

Whether you’re buying for a keen walker, a poetry enthusiast, a young reader or simply treating yourself, I hope there’ll be something to catch your eye.

Come Along and Say Hello!

One of the great pleasures of attending these events is meeting people. I always enjoy chatting about books, writing, walking, poetry and the many unexpected experiences that find their way into stories.

And you certainly don’t have to buy anything to stop for a conversation!

So, if you’re in the Hutton Roof or Carnforth area on Sunday 22 November, why not pop into the village hall, have a look around the fair and come and say hello?

I’d be delighted to see you.
