I’m delighted to be joining fellow poet Bryan Griffin, Carnforth’s very own Poet Laureate, to host an evening of spoken word, poetry, acoustic music and storytelling at the Royal Station Hotel in Carnforth.
Organised by The Carnforth Creatives, this open mic evening is an opportunity for performers of all abilities to share their work in a friendly, relaxed and encouraging atmosphere.
Whether you’re an experienced poet, an aspiring storyteller, a musician looking for an audience, or someone who has never performed in public before, you will be made very welcome.
And if you would rather simply sit back, listen and enjoy the performances, that’s absolutely fine too!
There’s something rather special about an evening when people come together to share their words, music and creativity. You never quite know what you’ll hear next, and that’s all part of the pleasure.

The evening is open to poets, acoustic musicians, short-story writers and anyone who enjoys live performance.
You don’t need to be an established performer, and you certainly don’t need to have published anything. All you need is something you’d like to share and the willingness to give it a go.
So, whether you’d like to take to the microphone or simply enjoy an evening of creativity in good company, Bryan and I would be delighted to see you there.
