We’re delighted that our March guest reader is the wonderful Seni Seneviratne.

Seni, a writer of English and Sri Lankan heritage, is published by Peepal Tree Press – Wild Cinnamon and Winter Skin (2007), The Heart of It (2012), Unknown Soldier (2019). Unknown Soldier was a PBS Recommendation, National Poetry Day Choice and highly commended in Forward Poetry Prizes 2020. She is widely published in anthologies and magazines, most recently: 100 Queer Poems (Penguin), and New England Review. She collaborates with film-makers, visual artists, musicians and digital artists and is one of ten commissioned writers on the Colonial Countryside Project. She co-edited, Out of Sri Lanka – an anthology of Tamil, Sinhala and English poetry (Bloodaxe, June 2023) with Vidyan Ravinthiran and Shash Trevett. The book received a PBS Special Commendation. She is currently working on an Arts Council Funded touring project based on her book, Unknown Soldier. Her fourth collection, The Go-Away Bird, was published in October 2023.

Rhubarb is a pay-as-you feel event that welcomes poetry & prose readers on an open mic in the first half, followed by a headline set from an invited guest. If you want to read on the open mic, please book with us when you arrive. We generally offer 10 open mic slots (squeezing in a few extras when we can). Please note we will be strict on timings this month as we expect a crowd, and want to leave a comfortable interval. As always, listeners are also very welcome
