Cauldron: Double Trouble – A Poem for Halloween by Peter Kay

Double trouble, soil and rubble, in the pan no squeak or bubble.

But in the dark her eyes glow green, though through the day she stays unseen,

conjures creatures, bats and worms, snake in the toilet, how he squirms.

Never sleep, lest your nightmares wake, take care in the kitchen when you bake.

Hear the thunder, buildings shudder, cats’ familiar with brown cows’ udder.

The spell is cast, its form is good, it’s Shakespeare mixed with witches’ blood.

Double trouble, soil and rubble, in the pan no squeak or bubble.
