Coniston is my favourite place in all The Lakes, but for a painful achilles, I would have been running my fifteenth Coniston 14 earlier this month. Tomorrow we are off for a short break to a cottage overlooking the lake. I have built into the itinery a day of writing. Here is a poem I wrote recently
