Tick-tocking away

Tick-tocking away There’s always a child with a device clamped to an ear, eyes down tick-tocking their soul, You-Tuber baby Lost in instant thoughts, feelings, aspirations, narrowing horizons, making them feel good, without knowing who they really are.

Pheasants

Poem for this week, trying to get caught back up! This one is very much apt for this time of year - Pheasants My grandson likes to play a game on the morning run to school, we count the number of pheasants seen, it’s three or four as a rule.

Black Sun There is a black sun rising in the east, a swirling, shape-shifting schizemic shift. Twitchers throng, to embrace overhead feast, each single element of airborne lift combines to darken crimson blooded sky. Freewheeling murmuration holds our gaze, black sun fills binoculars held to try to capture magic moments, as the day slips into darkness the throng disperses, thousands of sturnidae, forever lost. Hooded crow signals eternal curses as moon takes centre stage to count the cost.
